"summary_nl": "The main aim of the proposed project is to develop and validate a new theoretical approach to accurately include electrostatic polarization effects in quantum molecular systems. As compared to existing continuum polarizable\nmodels (implemented in standard quantum chemistry codes such as Gaussian), our method treats explicitly volume charge contributions to the solvent reaction field. Moreover, our approach is being developed in the framework of the highly correlated quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) techniques which allow to compute these additional contributions in a straightforward manner. We intend to validate our approach by performing benchmark many-body calculations on several solutes of chemical interest, such as organic compounds containing the carbonyl and the amino groups dissolved in water.",
