"summary_en": "Quantum key distribution (QKD) has grown into a mature technology for keeping information safe from the arising threats of cybersecurity attacks from quantum computers. Although today there exists commercially available QKD products, they are based on bulky and costly components resulting on solutions hindering mass deployment. This project targets developing the first, high-speed, all-chip-based measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution transmitter in the InP photonic integration platform. The technology developments realized in the project are crucial for deploying a national quantum network infrastructure in the Netherlands via miniaturized, high-performance, and reduced cost, QKD transceivers.",
