"summary_en": "The research in cavity optomechanics has recently achieved the first observation of quantum phenomena in\n\ncryogenic, optically cooled mechanical resonators. To exploit optomechanical systems as quantum sensors is essential that they can operate at room temperature. One of the approached followed in this project was based on free-standing silicon nitride nano-membranes that can be regarded as highly coherent mechanical resonators in the field of quantum technologies and fundamental physics. Resonators based on tensioned SiN membranes, reaching high quality-factors, were successfully used in quantum sensing measurement schemes. A relevant example developed by the project is a large-bandwidth optomechanical atomic force sensor.",
