"summary_en": "This project explored new ways to control the flow of electron spins in graphene. By coupling graphene to atomically thin magnetic materials, novel spin-related properties emerged. A key outcome of this Rubicon project was the development of quantum spintronic devices in which information is carried through spins without energy loss or the need for an external magnetic field. The topologically-protected spin signals make this system robust and suitable for spin-logic applications. These results, published in Nature Communications 16, 5336 (2025), mark a major step toward developing quantum spintronic circuits that promise faster and more energy-efficient operation than conventional electronics.",
